Last year I was invited to participate in this amazing project founded by Leilani Rogers called the Public Breastfeeding Awareness Project. Over 60 photographers from around the world participate in an effort to help normalize public breastfeeding. Last year, I was pregnant and not feeling well enough to participate, but I am so excited to have participated this year. I spent time with 3 beautiful mamas and loved hearing about their families and breastfeeding stories. I ended the project by taking a “brelfie” of myself with my almost 6 month old…as it’s been a hard journey for us as well. Breastfeeding in public is NOT shameful. As you can see below, Sara, Cariesa, and Toni are absolutely beautiful. I only hope that one day we can live in a world where women and babies are not shamed for something that is so beautiful.
Go check out Leilani’s experience with the project this year over on her blog! It’s so amazing that she started the project and I am just honored to be a part of it! http://www.photosbylei.com/2015/08/17/pbap2015-austin-tx-breastfeeding-photographer/
